On Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai, Azizi Developments hopes to build a skyscraper that will rise to a height of 725 meters, making it the second-tallest structure in the world when completed. And not too far from the Burj Khalifa, which at 828 meters is the tallest building in the world.
The tower’s height was officially announced today.
Sales of residential apartments for the “Burj Azizi,” a freehold residential tower with more than 131 stories, are expected to start in February 2025. Soon, the principal contractor will be made public, and Azizi plans to complete the project by 2028. It is yet unknown how many freehold apartments will actually be made available.
There will also be an all-suite hotel component and a retail center that are “inspired by seven cultural themes.”
The location is right next to the World Trade Center metro station. Azizi purchased the plot in September of 2022.
The chairman of the project, Mirwais Azizi, stated that the Dh6 billion plus project “represents more than just the creation of an iconic structure— it is a commitment to transforming Sheikh Zayed Road and elevating Dubai’s skyline to new, unparalleled heights.”
At the time of the plot purchase, it was stated that the chairman would view this as his “dream project.”
Apart from the 725-metre target, the new tower aims to build:
- level 11 of the world’s tallest hotel lobby;
- the tallest nightclub at level 126 and the highest observation deck at level 130;
- Level 122 of the tallest restaurant in Dubai; and
- The highest hotel room in Dubai is located on level 118.

Burj Azizi officially opens for business at a time when the Uptown Tower and the One Za’abeel development, among other eye-catching skyscrapers, have recently been welcomed to the Dubai real estate market.
