Expo City for Dubai will see the construction of a mixed-use project by Aldar of Abu Dhabi, the company announced. Dubai recently unveiled a new Expo City masterplan, strengthening its offerings as a possible full-scale mixed-use destination. Dh1.75 billion is currently under development.
An alliance with Expo City Dubai is behind this project.
The Aldar project, which will be a “core element” of a new masterplan, will consist of six buildings. These will be located close to the Dubai Exhibition Centre, which is expected to expand from 58,000 square meters to 180,000 square meters of exhibition space by 2031 through a Dh10 billion project. The region would then have its biggest indoor exhibition and event space as a result.
Due to the Aldar announcement, Expo City is now open to other developers, much like Dubai South is being developed. Expo City and Dubai South are validated as the new growth corridors for the city.
The Aldar Expo City project will comprise residential, office, and retail space totaling 103,000 square meters of gross floor area. When it’s done, it will oversee the asset management of the.
Aldar has agreements for office and commercial space, and it has already opened two residential communities in Dubai. The Abu Dhabi-based developer also announced that it would be building a historic office building on Shaikh Zayed Road.

The master developer in Dubai has so far made direct announcements about the Expo City project. Moreover, the City is the location of the Expo 2020 legacy structures.
