Sheikh Mohammed Approves Dh10 Billion Expansion Plan for Expo City Exhibition Center in Dubai

The master plan for the Dubai Exhibition Center expansion in Expo City has been approved by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai and vice president of the United Arab Emirates.

According to the plan, the exhibition space will be increased from 58,000 square meters to 180,000 square meters. Moreover, there will be 600 yearly events as opposed to only 300.

By 2031, following the expansion, this location is anticipated to be the largest indoor exhibition and events hub in the region. The area of the space will be more than one million square meters when built up.

Included will be an external exhibition plaza measuring 22,000 square meters, 7,000 square meters of retail space dedicated to food and beverage offerings, and 8,000 square meters of office space. With a 1.2 km length, the center can hold 65,000 visitors per day.

Visitors will have direct access to the venue from more than 5,000 parking spaces arranged across several floors. A 35,000-square-foot, 300-key hotel will also be located at the center.
