The largest developer of real estate in Dubai has announced plans to contest one of its own biggest projects.
According to reports from Arabian Business, Emaar intends to build a massive structure that will be able to match the Burj Khalifa’s height.
When the tower is finished, it will be taller than existing planned projects like the Burj Azizi, making it the second-tallest structure in the world.
After it is finished, the 828-meter Burj Khalifa on Sheikh Zayed Road will be just over 100 meters away from the 725-meter Burj Azizi.
Though the precise height and location have not yet been revealed, four very interesting and very different designs have been considered: a glass-tube sculpture, a rocket-shaped tower, and a design that uses gothic spires.
While there are plans to build a mega tower for the Dubai Creek project, other possible locations include the area around the Burj Khalifa.
The tower slated for Dubai Creek was supposed to eclipse the Burj Khalifa, but these plans have since been retracted. It is currently unknown if the tall tower under discussion today is the same as the Dubai Creek Tower.
Rumor has it that its height is almost equal to the current record for the world’s tallest building. which, to save you time on a Google search, is 828m.
The super-tower would, of course, be an upscale project with an emphasis on apartments, hotels, and leisure areas. It is also mentioned that the design heavily integrates AI.
A source close to the project told Arabian Business that Emaar believes they can succeed again because of their past experience.
The source said: “We are talking about the kind of design and construction that nobody in the world will come close to doing, let alone the height of this building.
“This tower would be the biggest thing built not just in Dubai but the world since the Burj Khalifa. We have done it once, so we know better than anyone how to do it twice.”
